[BLDG-SIM] centrifugal blowers

Does anyone have experience with a variable speed drive on a centrifugal
blower used in an industrial vacuum system?
This is a 60 HP machine that is never loaded beyond 40% (power) - even with
an inlet bypass. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
The manufacturer has been useless (they already sold the machine and
apparently could care less about making it more efficienct, although they
did provide us with a performance curve)
