My apology for cross-postings.

The Institute for Research in Construction (IRC) of the National Research
Council of Canada (NRC) has released a beta version of the skylight software
called SKYVISION for testing and evaluation by end-users. The software can
now be downloaded free of charge from the web:
http://irc.nrc-cnrc.gc.ca/ie/light/skyvision/. The potential users of
software are skylight manufacturers, building designers, architects,
engineers, and fenestration councils. Skylight manufacturers use the tool
to rate skylight products (existing or new products), and to provide
services to their clients on how to select the right skylight for the right
application. Building designers/architects use the tool in all the design
phases (pre-design, design, retrofitting ) to maximize the energy benefits
of skylights by accounting for the skylight shape and glazing, geometry of
the indoor space (curb, well, room), position of skylights on a roof,
lighting and shading controls, site location and sky/ground conditions.
Fenestration councils use the tool to rate skylight products (visible
transmittance, solar heat gain coefficient, daylit coverage area, etc. ).

Your comments/suggestions, and bug reports are very useful and appreciated.
