Yes, TRNSYS has the capability to model the piping/tank system you are
studying. However, you did not mention the devices that will be used to
cool the water supply (air or water-cooled chillers, water-water heat
pumps, etc..). Assuming that the cooling system is relatively standard
then the answer is still YES (there are models for most standard HVAC
equipment components in TRNSYS) . If the cooling system is something on
the unusual side then I would still stick with TRNSYS as it has the
capability to quickly and easily add content (new component models) to the
package. There are also large libraries of user-written component models
available (both free and for a small fee) that greatly expand the
capabilities of the program beyond that available through the standard package.
