[Bldg-sim] eQuest-R

Hi,

Any comments or strategy tips for modeling a -10ºF freezer warehouse using
eQuest-R?

I’ve done plenty of eQuest modeling, and plenty of refrigeration modeling
(using spreadsheets), but never tried to marry the two together.

Specifically, can you model:

1.	two-stage open-drive screw compressor system, with slide valve, or
VFD control?
2.	evaporator fan cycling?
3.	infiltration reductions by using better / faster freezer doors?
4.	underfloor frost-heave control system (using compressor jacket heat,
or otherwise)?
5.	hot gas defrost of evaporators (based on liquid run-time or on fixed
time schedule)?

Also, any comments on using eQuest to model the loads, and exporting the
hourly load reports to use in a separate spreadsheet model?

Any pointers or tips on the features and/or shortcomings of the
refrigeration version of eQuest to model the building described above will
be most appreciated.

Thanks

Sincerely,
Alec Stevens, PE, LEED AP
