[BLDG-SIM] eQUEST - Climatic Data

You can order TRY (they send you 10 years for about $200 (as of 10 years ago)) raw weather data for several locations around the world from NCDC.  Use the DOE2.1E weather processors to convert a selected year to binary format for use by the DOE2 based programs.

This is what the weather data looks like (still formatted for the 80 column punched cards of the 1960s to 1980s)

I have developed procedures with Excel that will convert a “.bin” file to tables/charts in IP & SI units, calculate HDD & CDD for different bases, etc.  I have several other Excel programs dealing with stair pressurization, LCCA, etc.  Students use them for their class projects and reports.  It can be made available if someone is willing to put it up on their website.
