Doe-2 should know that. The tilt of each of these roof segments would be
different from 90deg.

Subject: [BLDG-SIM] Cool Roofs and Angled Roofs

Folks:

I'm not an architect, so only can speculate on the answer.

I am simulating an multi faceted angled(peaked)roof generated by the
eQuest Wizard (and looks pretty good in the 3-D rendering !!).

Now I add a cool roof membrane to it (in Detailed Interface Parametric
mode). Does DOE-2 KNOW what the angle is of each roof segment, such that
a "high noon" sun does NOT drop a direct normal solar beam onto a
vertical surface (which of course it is not)?

Ideas?
