[BLDG-SIM] Light Tubes in eQuest

Can you specify a small exterior "roof" just big enough for the light
tube(s) in each 3rd floor zone (use multipliers if there are multiple
tubes/zone or place several appropriately if daylighting is an issue).
Reduce the area of the actual roof accordingly and specify interior
ceilings next to the topmost space (adjusted for tube areas) in each
zone if thermal interactions are expected to amount to anything.

If the tubes are to be installed in the slanted portion of the roof (I
don't have a clear picture of how that space is configured) it gets more
interesting (fun?) if you want to take into consideration daylighting
issues. Maybe a vertical shade at each tube on the side that would be
"uphill" in the actual installation? Reduce the aperture of the skylight
to account for less projected area normal to a horizontal surface? Don't
know about adjusting glass properties. All this speaks more to the art
of modeling more than the science. Don't know that any of this ends your
"fun", but maybe something will strike a chord and get you closer. Good
luck.

Subject: [BLDG-SIM] Light Tubes in eQuest

Hi Folks:

Fun for a Friday afternoon (in California).

I have been asked to model light tubes in a 3 story building, but only
for the top floor (GOOD).

However, there is a slanted roof/spacial area above the 3rd floor
ceiling. So I cannot directly install a skylight into the top floor
(BAD).

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.
