[BLDG-SIM] eQUEST Perimeter Conductance

The method equest uses for simulating underground surfaces is the preffered
method for calculating underground surface heat transfer in DOE2. The
method is based on work done by Joe Huang et all in 1988 and revised by Fred
Winkelmann in 2002. THe revised method was published in the Nov/Dec 2002
Building Energy Simulation newsletter under the title "Underground Surfaces:
How to get a Better Underground Surface Heat Transfer Calculation in
DOE2.1E".

My suggestion is that you select your underground wall insulation using the
pre-defined wizard inputs and then leave them be in the detailed edit mode.
If you feel the need to do something different I suggest you consult the
article referenced above.

Subject: [BLDG-SIM] eQUEST Perimeter Conductance

Hello,

I am trying to model perimeter foundation insulation using eQUEST, and I am
trying to locate the best possible method to do so. The default underground
wall construction uses the basic construction type configuration with
materials spread over the entire floor. The help function of eQUEST,
version 3.60, refers to the variable PERIM-CONDUCT, but it is nowhere to be
found in this version of eQUEST. Does anyone know which version of eQUEST
contains the new perimeter insulation variable and/or a feasible way to
model perimeter insulation using the U-effective keyword?

Thanks,
