[Bldg-sim] roof monitor, day lighting and photo sensors in DOE2.2

Christian,

The roof monitor you add to the building should be added to the space and not to the plenum. The roof of the monitor can be constructed using a horizontal exterior wall and specified the construction used for the general roof of the building.

Note the roof that you think will act as a barrier in the model is not a part of the space but of the plenum. The space simply has a vertical glazing above from which the light is coming. So it doesn't know there is a barrier.
However it is recommended that you create the four planes of the roof using exterior wall surfaces to estimate the conductance from the roof surfaces correctly.

Do you actually have a plenum in this scenario where you have a roof monitor. If not all the roof surfaces should be a part of the space and not the plenum to account for the correct heat load from the roof.

Hopefully this helps

Did you get an answer Christian? I've been wondering this too...
