[Bldg-sim] Hot Deck Schedule

Brian,

Thanks for your reply. The Heating availability schedule controls both the central gas furance and zone electric reheat. However, I don't them to run at the same time. The gas furnace is on in the morning warm-up mode when the zone reheat is off. For the rest of the day, the zone reheat is on when the gas furnace is off. The HEAT-SET-SCH is supposed to control the gas furnace. But I didn't figure how it works or maybe there are some other parameters with higher priorities.

Best,

Perhaps the Heating availability schedule:

HEATING-SCHEDULE
Takes the U-name of a SCHEDULE of TYPE = ON/OFF/TEMP that specifies when heating is available from the system. If not entered, the program will assume that heating is always available when needed. A zero value for this schedule means that heating is not available. A non-zero value indicates that heating is available.The program interprets a value greater than 1.0 to be the outside temperature above which heating is unavailable. The program assumes the heating coils are off whenever the air-handling fans are off.-- or try setting the HEAT-SET-SCH to something like 55F rather than 0F.

Not sure.

Hi eQuest Folks,

I model a PIU sysem with VAV box. I added a gas furnace for morning warm-up and tried to use hot deck schedule to control the temperature of heating supply air such as 80F. From 1-7 am, hot deck T is 80. For the rest of the day, it is zero because I want to turn off gas furnace.  In the INP file, the parameters are as follow.

SET-DEFAULT FOR SYSTEM
   TYPE = PIU
   HEAT-SET-SCH     = "Gas Furnace"
   HEAT-CONTROL     = SCHEDULED

However, after checking the hourly report, i found the heating coil (gas furnace) is always on even the hot deck temperature in the Gas Furnace schedule has been set to zero. Does anyone have any ideas about what the problem is? Your feedback and sugggestions are highly appreciated.

Thanks

Shaojie
