LBNL's Building Technologies Department (BTD) within the EETD invites
applications for Scientists (or Staff Scientists), Computational
Research Postdocs, and Research Associates to join their team. You will
develop the next generation of building energy modeling, simulation and
analysis tools for the design and operation of low energy buildings.

Incumbents will conduct research and implement software that enables
modeling, simulation and analysis of building energy and control systems
in support of the design and operation of Net Zero Energy Buildings. You
will also develop and implement object-oriented equation-based
simulation models of building energy systems and their control
algorithms, link domain-specific simulation programs to each other, and
conduct simulation-based studies to analyze the performance of
integrated building control algorithms

Current related research in EETD includes research on controls,
performance monitoring and benchmarking; strategies for zero energy
buildings; innovative window systems and facades; energy efficient
lighting systems; indoor environmental quality; and managing electricity
demand. The incumbent will focus on developing, modeling, measuring and
analyzing window and facade technologies and systems but will
collaborate with EETD staff on related building science projects for
both new and existing residential and commercial buildings.
