Research Assistant – Building Energy Analytics

The Energy 
Efficiency group is a leader in designing and implementing effective and 
innovative demand side management strategies, including energy efficiency, 
demand response, and peak load management. Our thorough understanding of our 
clients’ needs enables us to help energy companies, governments, and commercial 
clients worldwide to manage energy consumption and peak 
demand.
To support 
our growth, we seek Research Assistants to work in our Energy, Climate & 
Transportation practice. The Research Assistant will contribute to the 
development of innovative, accurate, timely, and high quality products and 
services, typically working on multiple projects with all levels of staff. 
Research Assistants at ICF International have an opportunity to apply their 
experience and academic knowledge, gain exposure to major projects, and interact 
with experts and clients in the field, while building content knowledge and 
consulting skills. 
Key Responsibilities: 

·        
Analyzing residential and/or commercial building systems 
using energy modeling tools (e.g., DOE-2, BLAST, EnergyPlus, etc.), interpreting 
sustainable design practices (e.g., LEED, ENERGY STAR), and in-depth analysis 
using spreadsheets, databases and Visual Basic functions.

Assisting with developing and implementing program 
strategies, preparing and presenting persuasive presentations, relationship 
building activities, research and analysis of energy efficiency and industry 
issues and corresponding with industry and government 
representatives.
Key Requirements: 

·        
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural 
Engineering, Building Science or related subject. 
·        
Candidates with a minimum GPA of 3.0 with strong 
quantitative and analytical skills, excellent written and oral communications 
skills, computer proficiency, organized, detail oriented, ability to prioritize 
and multi-task and the ability to work under strict deadlines in a fast-paced 
environment are encouraged to apply.

Knowledge of building construction methods, mechanical 
systems and related energy use desired.
