[Bldg-sim] LEED BD&C - EA c1

I know that the use of PV Watts is acceptable. Not sure about RetScreen off
the top of my head.

You would only need to follow the ECM if you modeled the PVs within the
energy modeling software (model the proposed building without PV and enter
it in the LEED form, model the proposed with the PV and enter the difference
in the renewable energy portion of the form). If it is modeled externally
simply enter the savings in the renewable energy portion of the form.

Hello Myrene,

It is acceptable to use PV Watts or RetScreen to calculate the PV
electricity output. Using one of these (free) software tools would be an
exceptional calculation method.

For the purpose of LEED credit EA c1 Optimize energy performance, is it
possible to account for on-site renewable energy using option 1 (whole
building energy simulation). It seems that you can using 1 of two options:
modeling directly onto building modeling software or using exceptional
calculation method, but I am not clear on the actual procedure. Which one
of the modeling software is capable of modeling PV renewable energy systems?
