[Bldg-sim] LEED-NC v2.2 innovation in design credit for reduction in peak energy load

Hopefully you can use a time-of-day or demand rate schedule from the local
utility in place of the state average pricing, which will give credits to
your proposed design for demand management -- depending on the difference
between peak/off-peak from the utility, and the other large demand users in
the building of course.

As another poster or two mentioned, the ID credits won’t cover those items
included in existing credits – except in the case of exemplary performance.
You don’t mention if this is the 11th EAC1 credit your are pursuing, you may
have a chance then?

Or else if you can get a letter from the utility talking about how your
demand management strategies have benefitted the local grid, even though no
cost savings is associated with the measures on-site due to the tariff in
place.

RE: innovation in design credit for reduction in peak energy load

Has anyone applied for and/ or gotten an innovation in design credit for
reduction in peak energy load for any version of LEED? We're working on a
project under LEED NC v2.2 and have significant reduction in lighting load
during peak hours by using solatubes.

Please provide any contact info and details if you can.

I appreciate the assistance. It seems like the energy model can be
manipulated to show the project savings during peak times and that would be
enough information needed for a submittal to the GBCI.

THANKS for being LEEDers!!
