We are happy to announce our 29th short course/workshop on energy efficiency
and simulation of buildings:

Name of Course: International workshop on "Energy Simulation of Buildings
for LEED and ECBC"

Tools covered: eQUEST, DIALux, Ecotect, and Radiance

Duration: 4 days, *14 to 17 May 2011*

Location: *Center for IT in Building Science at IIIT Hyderabad, India.*

*About the workshop*

The four days workshop is an opportunity to learn how to perform
daylighting, lighting and energy simulation of buildings for LEED, ASHRAE
90.1 Appendix G and ECBC through hands-on training on simulation tools and
case studies. Besides sailing through the process of building energy
simulation up to report preparation stage, the workshop would also cover
fundamental concepts related to building physics required to utilize these
simulation tools. This course focuses on the skills and knowledge required
for carrying out energy simulations for LEED and ECBC. Some common questions
which will be answered through interactive exercises are:

   * How much detailing is required for energy modeling
   * What are the impacts of lighting, internal loads, occupancy schedules
on energy consumption
   * How to analyze simulation results and propose energy conservation
measure (ECMs)
   * How to rank ECMs on life cycle cost basis

Participants will be working on exercises and one project and will prepare a
report and submittals for the LEED EA Cr 1- Optimize Energy Performance, IEQ
Cr 8.1 – Daylighting and SS Cr 8- Light Pollution Reduction.
