John et al -

Agree Alex has a good procedure for picking up the angular dependence.

As a "quick-and-dirty" approach, you might be able to get an "effective" SHGC chart from the film manufacturer and use it with simplified window entry.

Attached is a similar chart I've used before from Vista Window Film.

Hi John,

I think this is how to do it: If you know the what the film is, I think you can create the new glass+film combo in LBNL's OPTICS. You can then import that new glass/film into LBNL's WINDOW. You should finally be able to make a DOE report file in WINDOW and import in eQUEST.

Okay, Smart peoples:

I have an existing glass (say Solar Bronze) which has properties of SHGC, VT, and U-Value. I now wish to take this same glass and add a film on top of it to further enhance the SHGC and VT properties.

I cannot just take a diferent window from the Glass Library, because I do not know the additive SHGC and VT effects. Is there any way to do a "glass-layers" operation? Or must I just guess at a glass that MIGHT be the equivalent?

Thanks.
