That sounds about right... Openstudio is probably what I had in mind!

That is probably a preferable workflow to get to AGI32, since it would
process the geometry one less time.

Not DesignBuilder (that I know of) but OpenStudio will import the IDF
file and make SketchUp Entities. Then, you might be able to use a
Sketchup plugin to do the rest.
