Dear building simulation experts,

The Symposium on Building Energy Uncertainty and Risk Analysis will be held in Atlanta on Sept 9, 2014.

The symposium offers an excellent opportunity to learn about the latest advancements and future challenges of building energy analysis under uncertainty. The outcomes of the NSF-EFRI supported research "Risk-Conscious Design and Retrofit of Buildings for low Energy" is the leading theme of the symposium. In the afternoon, the research team will present the major outcomes of the research conducted from 2010-2014.
The morning will be dedicated to an overview of the project and the research domain in general, highlighting accomplishments and remaining challenges, followed by a panel with perspectives from industry on the role of uncertainties in energy performance assessments and their ramifications for sound design and retrofit strategies.

For the full program and registration see: www.uqbem.gatech.edu<http://www.uqbem.gatech.edu>.
With the generous help of our sponsors and NSF we are able keep the registration fee as low as $ 75.

Note that the symposium is adjoined with the ASHRAE/IBPSA-USA Building Simulation Conference in Atlanta, September 10 - 12, 2014, see www.ashrae.org/simulation2014<http://www.ashrae.org/simulation2014> for more details.
For those of you that are planning to attend the ASHRAE-IBPSA conference, this is an excellent opportunity to enjoy both events in the same week.
The venue for the symposium on the Georgia Tech campus in midtown Atlanta is only a short MARTA ride away from the ASHRAE-IBPSA venue in the Atlanta Buckhead area.

A number of travel awards is available for students and young researchers. For application and deadlines, see www.uqbem.gatech.edu<http://www.uqbem.gatech.edu>

For any inquiries, don't hesitate to get in touch with the symposium coordinator: Jeannie Kim, jihyun.kim at gatech.edu<mailto:jihyun.kim at gatech.edu>

I hope you will join us in Atlanta!
