Hi Christopher,

 

The Proposed building modeling protocols are stipulated by ASHRAE Appendix G. Table G3.1 Section 10(b) states that when a complete HVAC system has been designed, the Proposed building model HVAC components must be consistent with the design documents. As such, if the air flows at the zone level are on the mechanical plans or schedules, then the model must use those values, not auto-sizing.

I am wondering what the GBCI policy is on self-sizing air flows at the zone level for multi-zone system such as VAVS, IU, etc. for the proposed design model.  I have always been of the thought that the zone air flows should be explicitly sized in the proposed case model.
