[EnergyPlus_Support] IWEC -- International Weather Data
As you know, we (EnergyPlus Development Team) obtained the ASHRAE IWEC
data, obtained permission to post it on the web site, and then processed it
and subsequently posted it.
Recently, it was discovered (by an EnergyPlus User), that this data has
some "significant" probelms. In short, the temperatures and probably some
other data (but not solar data) is shifted by the number of hours that the
location differs from GMT. After verifying this, we have reported it to
ASHRAE and corrected data will be forthcoming. Until then, you should just
be aware of the impacts.
And, we have added a new statistic to the WeatherConverter programs
"statistics" report -- where we will hopefully never need it to identify a
similar problem in future weather data. The statistics for the hourly
average in a day shows, (Havana Cuba -- TZ GMT -5):

Sorry for any wrapping that occurs. The original data has tabs for easy
spreadsheet insertion.
Impacts (until correct weather data occurs): the high temperatures may
occur in the middle of the night whereas the lows may be in the middle of
the day. Just an FYI and heads up. We'll also let you know as things get
corrected.
