I haven't tried this with the latest E-Plus version.  One of my previous version projects was to model a space under construction that crossed the year boundary.  The model started at the time I specified but stopped at the end of the year.  I am too busy to recheck this now, but in a couple of weeks I have to do some more simulation work and I will test this and the WINDOW 5 inputs....

That is not intentional.  You should be able to specify:

Run Period from 1 december through 31 march for example even though your 
weather file does not have that as its data period.

You can also choose to report only specific time slices throughout the day.
