Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] generating weather file

There are ways to generate approximate hourly data from limited weather
information. A study of weather records several years ago (Cash et al)
shows that temperatures can be estimated with about 10% accuracy using a
simple cyclodial function based on average temperature and daily
extremes. You could modify this a bit so that low temperatures occur
just before dawn.

Solar can be calculated from equations for your sire. The problem is
that we can reasonably calculate a clear day solar gain, but estimating
the effects of cloud cover is still a crap shoot.

Rain is not much of a problem because E+ uses just a rain indicator, not
a measured amount.

you need something for wind. Moisture (outside RH) is another matter.
I don't know of any studies that try to preict outdie dew point
temperature cycles.

Any wha, you have a lot of data to gather and put in a spreadsheet that
the weather generator coupd process.

Have you got enough time to record your own sit data?
