[EnergyPlus_Support] Validation Studies for E+ Daylighting Algorithms

EPlus users:

Is anyone out there aware of any work that has been done to validate
the relative accuracy and integration of the E+ (DOE2 improved)
daylighting and lighting control algorithms with the heat balance
method against a 'real world' building? 

In particular I'm looking to better understand the strengths and
weaknesses of the algorithms 'built in' and non-configurable
assumptions with respect to various zone configurations. I am aware of
the imformation in the Engineering Manual regarding the algorithms but
am seeking actual studies, data, etc. 

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
