Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] about the outside air



INFILTRATION is uncontrolled flow of outside air through cracks or other 
openings in the building envelope.  It becomes a load on the space.

Outside air flow in the ZONE SIZING is fresh air brought in by the HVAC system 
(mechanical ventilation) and is in addition to infiltration.  

Some modelers assume that the HVAC system will pressurize the building such 
that infiltration goes to zero when the system fans are operating, but this is 
subject to debate.  This can be done through schedules if desired.
