RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] optics data

Using WINDOW5 is a very effective way to enter window data into EnergyPlus.

If you choose not to use WINDOW5, here are answers to your other questions . . .

1. Only one WindowGlassSpectralData object can be associated with a given
MATERIAL:WINDOWGLASS layer. WindowGlassSpectralData allows for entry of up to
450 sets of "wavelength, transmittance, front reflectance, back reflectance".
When you say the optics program is producing 3 sets of data, how are these sets
different? If they are for different ranges of wavelength, then all 3 sets
would provide values to be part of a single WindowGlassSpectralData object.

2. EnergyPlus calculates the angular transmittance (and reflectance and
absorptance) of all window materials.

For layers of type SpectralAverage, this calculation is done once per timestep
using the single set of SpectralAverage properties.

For layers of type Spectral, this calculation is done once per timestep for
each set of wavelenght data provided in the WindowGlassSpectralData object.
Then the wavelength-based transmittances are combined into an overall
wavelength-weighted average transmittance for the heat balance calculations.
