Res: [EnergyPlus_Support] warning message 2

Hi Linda,

Thanks a lot for the reply. I just wanted to be a 100% sure about what the message meant.
I am really sorry I didn't notice that the reply was only for me and not for the list. So I'm copying it here at the end of this email.
Thank you and Javier for the help! :)

Regards,

Clarice

Here goes Javier reply:

If you have several shadings devices, it?s possible that one point Hill be shaded by more than one device.
And the warning means that.
You have one point (or several) that is (are) shaded by more than one device.

What was unclear about what you read in the documentation?

EnergyPlus automatically mirrors detached shading elements because,
by themselves, they only shade what is "behind" them. So, we mirror
this, effectively making two detached shading elements for every one
that the user inputs. Likewise attached shading elements. The
summary message is telling you that you might reduce or eliminate the
"too many figures" message if you don't mirror detached shading
elements (user option), but it's only a suggestion,

Since the list did not see the reply about the "too many figures",
would you forward it or have the person reply to the list as well as
to you -- to share the knowledge? With V1.4, I re-implemented at
least one warning message when the "too many figures" happens. It
had been turned off unless you put in the Display Extra
Warnings. The new message doesn't give as much information as the
one with Display Extra Warnings, though.

Linda
