RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] simulating dome



 

One thing to clarify:  the TDD:DOME object is used to model the plastic
dome of a tubular daylighting device, but it does not make any special
optical calculations because it is a dome...it actually just models it
the same as a flat window.  We hope to add special optical dome
calculations some day in the future.

If you mean a structural dome, it must be described as a collection of
flat 
surfaces. EnergyPlus is not able to model curved surfaces. Some of the
user 
interfaces may allow you to draw a dome shape and triangulate it
automatically.

If you mean a small dome serving a light tube, then yes. See TDD:DOME, 
TDD:DIFFUSER, and Daylighting Device:Tubular.
