Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] radiance vs E+

Hi Danny,

You are not comparing an apple with an apple. Radiance and EPlus were
developed for totally different purposes, and each has achieved its
purpose very well. When you say "daylight modelling" you have to
remember that even if both program "can" do this, but both programs do
this for totally different purposes. When you compare, you should take
this into account, ie it is not practical for Eplus (in terms of
coding) to have the level of accuracy that Radiance can offer. Not
only "not practical", but probably its not even necessary (but this is
arguable).

Having said that, the solution to your problem should be obvious. Why
dont you use Radiance to come up with a schedule of the daylight level
for every hour for the whole year for the space and then use the
schedule in Eplus? I believe you can do this through Daysim, but I
have never tried.

Cheers,

Ery
