There is an openstudio support group. You would need to contact them or download the OpenStudio app from the Energyplus website
However, you should look at the simple surfaces (rectangular, length, width, facing) that were introduced recently.
Example files
4ZoneWithShading_Simple_1.idf
and
4ZoneWithShading_Simple_2.idf
provide illustrative examples.
