A much easier option is Greenshot <http://greenshot.sourceforge.net/> .
It's free, it's much faster, it allows instant editing, and you can
either copy the results to your clipboard or save it as any file type
you'd like. I would suggest png's for this type of application - jpg's
degrade the quality and really are better suited for pictures. PNG's
work much better for vector drawings or anything with text (but their
file size goes up exponentially for photos)...however compare them for
yourself.

Yep.

Here's the play-by-play (for Windows XP users):

* Navigate to the view you want
*         Press either
o PrtScrn - to get an image of your entire screen, or
o Alt+PrtScrn - To get an image of the currently active
window/dialog
*         Open Paint:
o        Start --> All Programs --> Accessories --> Paint
o        How I do it:
* Press the Windows key + r to get the run dialog
*         Type MSPAINT
*         Press enter
*         Ctrl+V to paste
* Optionally trim the image by
o Dragging the selection up and/or left immediately after
pasting, then
o Clicking outside the selection and finding the pick box at the
bottom right corner to pull in the right and bottom edges
* Optionally mark up the image by playing with the
text/line/oval tools
*         File --> Save As...
* Choose *.jpg since these onebuilding.org's mailing lists choke
up with some larger formats (like Paint's default *.bmp)
* Examine the resulting file as there will be some loss in
quality by choosing a compressed format
*         Post away!

Just toggle between the main tabs, for example click on the 'Internal
Loads' or 'Air-Side HVAC', and when you come back to the 3D screen,
the toolbar should be back. This has worked for me, though there might
actually be a tool somehere also.
Sometimes your entire 3D model might disappear, and the solution would
be the same as above.
Shutting down the program and restarting also works. No need to
reinstall though.

Screen captures are usually done using the PrintScreen command on your
keyboard.

Greetings all,
I x'd out (closed) the small toolbar that floats within the 3-d view
screen, and am not able to get it back.
Is there an easier way than reinstalling the whole program?

Also, I appreciate the screen captures you all share in this forum, how
do you get those?

Thanks in advance!

This is going to be a really dumb question, but I am trying to put a
report together and want to use the 3-D image of the building; does
anyone know how to print it? Thanks in advance.
