[Equest-users] Unitary equipment compressor + condenser electric

This is just an FYI I'm sharing 'cause it took me awhile to figure it
out.

The SS-H Report has an ELEC COOL section that shows cooling energy (kWh)
and load (kW). Here's what the "MAXIMUM ELECTRIC LOAD (KW) includes:

This is "unitary equipment compressor + condenser electric" (per
"eQUEST/DOE-2.2 Sample Output (SIM file)" document).
It does NOT include indoor fan energy (supply, return, exhaust etc.). It
includes condenser fan energy, which is either implicit in the
COOLING-EIR or which is manually entered as OUTSIDE-FAN-ELEC.

The maximum monthly value for compressor + condenser electric load also
appears on the SS-P Report as the kW peak "ENERGY USE" and peak
"COMPRESSOR". (Any difference in the kWh between these two columns is
due to CRANKCASE-HEAT.)

The hourly value of the electric cooling load can be found by creating a
new hourly report block for the system and selecting "Elec input to cool
(kW)".
Here's how the hourly value is calculated:
1.) The total cooling capacity (COOLING-CAPACITY) is multiplied by
the value for COOLING-CAP-FT (a multiplier due to EWB & OA temperature -
an example curve is PVVT-Cool-Cap-fEWB&OAT).
2.) The COOLING-EIR is multiplied by the values for COOL-EIR-FT and
COOL-EIR-FPLR. These two curves are shown on the unitary power tab. The
first is a function of the EWB&OAT and the second is a function of the
part load ratio.
3.) The total cooling capacity is multiplied by the cooling EIR, and
divided by 3413 to convert from BTU to kW.

Have a great weekend!
