You can also hold down shift and then arrow down and over the cells you want to highlight and copy.  (First make sure the box is selected with a border and not the text within a box).

I see what you are saying, and that is really too bad.  I did find a small workaround.  If you first select a cell that has a drop-down-menu, you can then select multiple cells to be copied.

For example, if you select one of your spaces, and go to "Internal Loads", you can then view in spreadsheet mode.  Starting at the The Conditioned/Unconditioned drop-down menu, you can click, hold, and drag to select multiple entries.
