[Equest-users] FW: Cooling EIR and unit EER

Does anyone know if the EER to EIR conversion mentioned below applies to
chiller COP values? For instance, if chiller data lists a full load
efficiency of COP 3.1/EER 10.5, do we then apply the EIR conversion and
enter that into the eQuest chiller EIR space?

Also, does anyone have a way of extrapolating a partial load curve for
any cooling equipment that lists a full load EER and an IPLV EER? The
equation for IPLV is:

IPLV = 0.01A 0.42B 0.45C 0.12D

where

A = COP at 100% load and an ECWT of (85F)

B = COP at 75% load and an ECWT of (75F)

C = COP at 50% load and an ECWT of (65F)

D = COP at 25% load and an ECWT of (65F)

Unfortunately, I think I have too many variables and not enough data

Hello

I've attached the document. Though it is nothing more than a sheet out
of our assignment for the eQuest class.

I do not have the original document from where this would have been
taken. Hopefully this helps :)

I would be curious to see that document. Would you mind posting it?

You're right, EIR is not equal to 1/(EER/3.14)

The equation used by eQuest for calculating EIR from EER is-

COOLING-EIR = (1/EER - 0.012167) / ((1 / 3.413) + 0.012167)

If you want more information, I could send you the document from where I
got this.

How does eQuest calculate "cooling electrical input ratio" shown in
detailed edit mode when you input an EER in the wizard? >From a few
checks I've done cooling EIR doesn't equal 1/(EER/3.413) as I would
expect.
