[Equest-users] eQuest Users - hydronic question

Scott,

Be aware that the eQUEST input fields that say "MBtu/h" are millions,
not thousands, of Btu/h. So a typical boiler capacity might be entered
as 1.0, not 1,000.

Regards,
Bill

Daniel,

Thanks for the reply. My input ratios are right. If I allow autosizing
my results are reasonable. The only thing I change is adding capacities
and my results just go nuts.

Scott,

Be sure to check your Heat Input Ratios (HIR) and your
Electric Input Ratios (EIR). For a chiller, if your COP is 5.0, your
EIR would be 0.2. For a boiler, if your efficiency is 80%, then your
HIR is 1.25. If I'm wrong, someone correct me, but I had a huge heat
rejection load one time only to find out that my EIR for the chiller was
1.2, instead of 0.2. thanks.

Subject: [Equest-users] eQuest Users - hydronic question

Dear eQuesters,

Whenever I try to add equipment capacities to anything hydronic, be it a
boiler, chiller, or anything else, my energy consumption goes absolutely
crazy. Is anyone else experiencing this?

- Thank you,
