[Equest-users] Different zoning per floor

Jamil,

I am not sure why you want to use the Schematic Design Wizard. It is quite
limited in what it can do. I think you would be better off using the Design
Development Wizard.

Charles is correct to advise you to use two separate shells and to locate
them relative to each other using the x y and z coordinates on the Wizard
Screen 1 of each shell. Be sure to check the box that says Specify Exact
Site Coordinates and set your x, y, and z to 0, 0, 0 for your first shell.
Follow the same procedure for your second shell and set the x, y, and z to
their proper values, which will usually, but not always, be 0, 0, height of
the first shell.

With regards to zoning, you can easily put in different zoning for each
shell in the Design Development Wizard. This is done on Screen 2 by setting
the Zone Pattern to Custom and creating as many zones as you want of any
shape that you want. You can also use the Detailed Design Wizard to specify
your window, wall, and door layout and to take a first crack at specifying
your constructions, internal loads, and HVAC systems. Notice I say "first
crack" for many of these items. You will want to carefully evaluate your
internal loads and schedules, constructions and HVAC system inputs that the
wizard creates to see if they match what you want in your final model.

Hope this helps!

Carol
