[Equest-users] ventilated facade

Hey Paulo,

 

I'll start by saying I don't know how one should approach ventilated facades in eQuest, if at all, but the error you are getting is because you can only make windows on exterior walls.  

 

That's not to say you can't define an interior wall with thermal properties of a window... 

 

If your ventilated façade is transparent (a ventilated zone bounded on interior and exterior by glass), you might try the above to approximate the thermal performance, and still model the solar loads incident on the interior with effectively adiabatic exterior wall surfaces defined for the interior zones, with inset windows (again, adiabatic for heat transfer), and be sure to locate those outside the overall envelope footprint so they aren't shaded...

 

Anyway, the above is pure speculation on my part - haven't tread this route just yet, I'd search the archives for more leads myself.
