Please disregard my email, as I just found my answer in the User's
Manual. Looks like I can use different systems for the residential and
non-residential portions.
Thanks anyways,
Umesh

Subject: [Equest-users] Large Hotel

I am working on setting up a baseline model for a 500,000 sf hotel, but
am unsure of the system choice. The notes that go with Table G3.1.1A
say:

-- Residential building types include dormitory, hotel, motel, and
multifamily. Residential space types include guest rooms, living
quarters, private living space, and
sleeping quarters. Other building and space types are considered
nonresidential.
-- Where attributes make a building eligible for more than one baseline
system type, use the predominant condition to determine the system type
for the entire building.

So the questions are:
1. Does one use 2 different systems in the same model, say packaged AC
for guest rooms and VAV for the rest of the building, or
2. Since the guest rooms would be the predominant space type, would the
entire building need to have PTAC/PTHP?

Thanks for your help.
