John,

Good to see your still around, old buddy.

If all you need to do is a quick calculation of production, try PV-Watts v.1 or 2.  It's an online tool with a minimum of simple inputs.  It can also export hourly production if you want to look at potential demand offset.

For performance contracts or a power purchase agreement, our PV engineers use PV-Syst, which requires more inputs and a bit of PV system design knowledge.  They then apply a % to the annual production for conservatism so we don't have to write a check for any shortfalls in production.
