[Equest-users] Anyone have a PV example they can share..

Vikram,

I'm getting forgetful in my old age. RETScreen is also very good and easy. On previous wind projects with historical wind data, RETScreen produced comparable results with HOMER, a custom hourly spreadsheet, and another software package I can't remember the name of right now.

Another option is to use RETScreen.

John,

Good to see your still around, old buddy.

If all you need to do is a quick calculation of production, try PV-Watts v.1 or 2. It's an online tool with a minimum of simple inputs. It can also export hourly production if you want to look at potential demand offset.

For performance contracts or a power purchase agreement, our PV engineers use PV-Syst, which requires more inputs and a bit of PV system design knowledge. They then apply a % to the annual production for conservatism so we don't have to write a check for any shortfalls in production.

My best,
Mike

The inputs to this module appear more on the Quantum Physics line.

And I am a poor engineer..
