[Equest-users] drawing file load error (resolved)

Hi Nick,

I didn't see a 3.70 update summary on the website, but I'm hoping the next
build will put 3.65 out of its misery. At the moment, the "killer" in 3.70
is the missing 90.1-2007 compliance option which I find really useful. On
my wish list - 3.70 with 90.1-2010 compliance.

Nice legwork Shaun!

As I typically do "pre-processing" of CAD references at the outset of a
project, I set my CAD software defaults to save as 2007 or 2010 format
.dwg's, and found that has generally tends to avoid such issues. That falls
neatly in line with your findings.

Also thanks for the 3.70 reminder (can be found here
<http://doe2.com/download/equest/> ). I've been meaning to give it a whirl,
but assumed it wasn't ready for prime time yet as it isn't on the main
eQuest page. Have you found something along the lines of an update summary,
or any new killer features in your own explorations?

~Nick

Hi all,

Thanks for the responses.

After some testing, it seems that

- Ver 3.64 - can open ACAD 2010 files saved from ACAD 2013/2015

- Ver 3.65 - cannot open 2004/2007/2010/2013 files saved from ACAD
2013/2015 (this causes the Teigha error)

- Ver 3.70 - can open ACAD 2013 files (but, for some reason, is
missing the 90.1 compliance option)

So, back to 3.64 for this project.

Shaun,

I suspect that AutoCAD 2013 is too new of a version for the version of
eQUEST you are using. Try saving the AutoCAD file as an older version, then
load that into eQUEST.

Has anyone, by chance, seen this before?

This msg appeared the first time I tried to load an autocad 2013 DWG file.
I've since tried saving it in other formats, eg DXF, and all eQuest will
give me is a blank Custom Building Footprint screen.

Thanks
