Matthew,

Yes, you can put a process load on the hot water loop to model the heating load as shown in the screen shot below. You'll need to create a fraction schedule to mimic the load for your building.

Hot water plants are pretty straight forward.  eQUEST does not account for condensate return, makeup water heating, deaerators, etc. if you have a steam plant so you'll need to add that to your process load or do hand calculations to account for it.

Subject: Modeling Boiler Plant

HI,
I am modeling a school building that houses a central boiler plant that serves an elementary school on the same campus. The scope of the project is to only model the building housing the boiler plant. We are going for several NYSERDA incentives and I'm being told they would like to see the savings compared to the existing building utility info. Is there a way to model an artificial load on the boiler loop to represent the second building? Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.
