John

Thanks for reply. Yeah, I know this method but if I am not wrong we can just provide a global parameter which can connect area to infiltration (cfm/sf). eQuest automatically connects infiltration by knowing if its perimeter/core zone & how much area it has

You can make a global parameter, such as "INFMULT" as a numeric and input it after every infiltration value like so:

INF-FLOW/AREA    = {0.0379388 *  #PA("INFMULT")}

It will take you a while but once it is completed you will be able to adjust the multiplier up and down with a single entry.

I am going from memory (which is always dangerous) and am unable to check however, I believe the infiltration is multiplied by the infiltration schedule. So, the quick way to create and measure as a parametric run in the detailed interface would be to create a second infiltration schedule with values 10% lower than the original schedule. Then switch infiltration as a parametric component in all (or appropriate) spaces.

Hope this helps (and that I am correct).

Cheers,

Brian

Subject: [Equest-users] Global Parameter for infiltration

Hi

I am working upon one multifamily high rise building which has almost 250 zones (spaces) on 14th floors. In baseline (detailed mode) it has different infiltration (cfm/sf) for most of zones because of different areas for perimeter as well as core spaces. I have one of several ECMs in which I need to reduce infiltration by 10% due to spray foam insulation and I was wondering how can it be done easily. Is there any global parameter that can be defined in baseline for infiltration and later things will be easy during ECM runs? If so, can someone please tell me script I need to give it to eQuest in "user defined inputs"? What I assume is that if somehow I connect area of the space to infiltration rate and use global parameter later to reduce infiltration percentage, life will be bit easier for me.

Thanks a lot in advance
