Subject: Re: [Equest-users] Duct Insulation
Did you look at the output file itself - it gives the errors as
***ERROR***********************************************************************
Duct losses are specified without a DUCT-LOSS-ZONE;
No plenum exists for default duct losses.
***ERROR***********************************************************************
In System: AHU-3 the duct thermal
losses based on the DUCT-DT, MIN-SUPPLY-T, and
zone DESIGN-COOL-T are either excessive or
impossible. Check these values for consistency.
I have never used duct-loss keyword, so not sure what will fix it other than having a dedicated zone or plenum for it as it says in the errors.
Good luck.

Good morning, all,
I’m encountering a run-time error trying to model duct heat loss. Normally when eQUEST has a run-time error I can find the cause of the error by searching for “error” in the .BDL file, but not in this case. I am entering 2F for DUCT-DT to simulate the temperature rise of the supply air through the duct. I also tried raising the Zone Entering Min Supply Temp, but the error still occurred. Any suggestions?
The attached files are from version 3-65.
