Andrea,
   I do not see any problem between those two modes. One note, however. 
Make sure that you connect the battery voltage to Type94's "load 
voltage" input (input 3) and that you use Type94's "array power" output 
(output 3) and NOT the "power at MPPT" output. This models a situation 
where the battery voltage is the load voltage as seen by the PV. This 
type of system is quite rare though; even in off-grid applications, the 
system includes a battery charge controller that includes an MPPT 
(maximum power point tracker). If your system includes a max power point 
tracker then you might consider using Type47a and Type47b. If you are 
using Trnsys17, I can send you an example of such a system that I 
recently made.
