[TRNSYS-users] Problem with photovoltaic simulation, help required

Dear David,

Thank you for your reply. Using the plug-in and characteristics found on the
web we managed to add the required parameters in type 194. However,
information for the inverter are required as well. I suppose that the
converter's characteristics are loaded from the dat external file. Where can
we find similar data for other converters?

Thank you a lot

Sotiris

Sotiris,
Please keep in mind that there are two different parameters that ask for
information about series configuration. The first (parameter 10) is the
number of cells that are wired in series within a module. The second
(parameter 11) is the number of modules that are wired in series in the
array. The first, will probably cause little change in results and really
should not be changed unless you are also changing the other parameters that
describe the module performance (short circuit current, open circuit
voltage, etc.) The second of the two parameters (parameter 11) should affect
the array voltage but not necessarily the array power (so long as the total
number of modules stays the same). Make sure also that you are looking at
the array maximum power point power.

In order to change the parameters of Type194 you can use the plugin (icon
in the lower left hand corner of the parameters tab). You might also
consider using Type94, which is a simpler model that requires parameters
that can typically be read directly from a manufacturer's specification
sheet.
Kind regards,
 David

Dear TRNSYS users,

I am a new user of TRNSYS software and I encounter some difficulties with
the type 194 (PV- inverter). The problem was occurred when I try to change
the N-series and I didn't watch any difference in the results. First of all,
I would like to know whether the example of photovoltaic in Trnsys17 runs
without a problem if I don't change or add any of parameters or not. How
can I put my parameters in this type? Is there any user who can help me or
have another example?

Thanks and Best Regards

Sotiris
