I am not sure that I entirely understand your question. Are you asking 
how to model a flat plate, a CPC and an evacuated tube collector using 
Type1 so that you can compare the performance of all three technologies? 
If so then I would recommend that instead you model the flat plate with 
Type1, the evacuated tube with Type71 and the CPC with Type74. The three 
technologies have quite different characteristics and requirements so 
they are represented by different models in the standard library.
