[TRNSYS-users] Irradiance/Illuminance calculations in TRNSYS

Caroline,
   The answer depends a bit on which weather reading/processing 
component you are using. If you are using Type15 and are reading TMY2 
and TMY3 files then the component outputs the following (read from the 
data) in the following units:

Global horizontal illuminance (lux)
Direct normal illuminance (lux)
Diffuse illuminance on horizontal (lux)
Zenith luminance (cd/m2)

   This assumes that Type15 is reading a full TMY2 or TMY3 format file. 
If the data in the file is in some non standard units or if the 
illuminance and luminance data fields are blank (or more likely set to 
some default value to indicate that the data isn't present) then the 
Type15 outputs won't be valid.
