[TRNSYS-users] hybrid small scale CHP plant combining geothermal with solar thermal (PTCs) power

Alexandros,
Type1288 is appropriate for applications in which the working fluid's
thermal properties change with temperature. The other two models (Types
1257 and 536) assume constant properties over the working temperature
range. The Type1257 model is designed around a few particular test
procedures used to characterize the performance of parabolic
concentrators. You should use that model if you have the parameter data
that it requires.

As far as an ORC engine component is concerned, we have usually
modeled these quite simply using a generic performance map component
such as Type42. You'll define the engine's COP as a function of a few
variables of interest (low and high temperature sinks for example) and
then enter this performance data into an external file to be read by
Type42 during the simulation.

I need a little more information in order to make a recommendation
about the geothermal source. Are you talking about using the ground as
thermal storage or using it as an actual source of energy (like a very
very deep mine or heat exchanger)
Kind regards,
  David
