Adam,
   You should be in contact with your TRNSYS distributor to get the 
latest TESS Libraries release as it includes documentation for Type941.

   To answer your specific questions, yes, you do still have to provide 
a cooling data file to the model even if you're not going to use the 
heat pump in cooling mode. You don't need to worry about the contents of 
the file and can simply use the one that is provided by default.

   The data in both the heating and cooling performance files are 
normalized. Each performance value is divided by that same performance 
value at the heat pump's rated condition. The value at the rated 
condition is provided as a parameter to the model. For example, if the 
heat pump's rated heating capacity is 0.6kW and its heating capacity at 
current operating conditions is 0.8 kW then the normalized heating 
capacity value entered into the data file would be 0.8/0.6=1.333.

   As a final note, when heat pump performance data files are normalized 
they end up looking very similar to one another so chances are that you 
can use the data file that is provided as an example and be quite close 
to the actual performance of the heat pump that you are planning to use.
