Faculty Position in Sustainable Development of Buildings & Infrastructure
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Stanford
University invites applications for a tenure line faculty position at
the Assistant Professor or untenured Associate Professor level
focusing on Sustainable Development of Buildings and Infrastructure.
The successful candidate is expected to have in-depth knowledge of
methods and tools for integrating energy efficiency, water reuse, and
other sustainability concerns into the early conceptual design stage
of the facility lifecycle. The selected candidate will be expected
to:
v Teach core courses at the BS, MS and PhD level on sustainable
development of building and infrastructure in Stanford's programs of
Construction Engineering and Management (CEM) and/or
Design/Construction Integration (DCI);
v Conduct research on emerging technologies and approaches for the
integrated design and construction of sustainable buildings and
infrastructure, and contribute to the department's broader research
program of Engineering for Sustainability.
Required background and qualifications include an earned doctorate in
Civil & Environmental Engineering, a related engineering discipline,
or a M.Arch. degree. Significant experience in the facility design
and construction process, and involvement in projects that include
performance-based sustainable engineering, are desirable
qualifications.

Publications, a brief statement of Research Vision and Teaching
Interests and the names of three to five References. We encourage
